Day 272: Oreo Brownies

Can you believe I've never made brownies on this blog before? I've baked blondies, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and practically everything but brownies.

Today I found out that it was National Brownie Day! ! I knew I had to make a brownie recipe once and for all!

I found out I had some leftover Oreos, and I added that into the mix. This recipe is perfect for all your brownie lovers. The crunch of the Oreos pairs beautifully with the fudgy brownies. This is a one-bowl recipe, and the brownies are irresistible, trust me.

Size-wise there are two options. You can either bake this in a 9x13" pan or an 8x8" pan. The 8" pan will give you a thicker brownie, while the 9x13" pan will have thinner brownies. Both take the same time so it doesn't matter too much.

You'll be finishing these brownies off in no time. The crunch of the Oreos are not only pretty to look at but also really delicious!

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup butter

  • 2-ounce chocolate bar, chopped

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 cup of cocoa powder

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup Oreos, chopped into bite-size pieces

  • 9 Oreos for the top (you may need more if you are going to bake in a 9x13" pan)

STEPS:

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F and line an 8x8" or 9x13" pan with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl microwave, the butter and chocolate until fully melted in 30-second intervals. Immediately add your sugar and stir to combine. Mix in the eggs, cocoa powder, flour, and chopped Oreos.

  3. Pour into your prepared pan and top with 9 Oreos. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes on with a few crumbs. Cool for 10 minutes and serve.

Enjoy!
