Week 12: Homemade Pesto

Creating your own homemade pesto sauce is so simple and easy! You won't ever go back to the store-bought kind.

My apologies for the delay in posting. Yesterday, the hotel I was in had no wifi, and I was unable to share this recipe!

Only three ingredients (plus seasonings, of course) are necessary to make the delicious recipe.

The sauce itself is so flavorful with notes of basil, pine nuts, and olive oil. If you want, you can replace the pine nuts with walnuts or almonds.

I recommend serving this with your favorite pasta or in a sandwich (I love having it in a panini)




  • 2 cups basil, washed

  • 1/4 cup pine nuts

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, more if needed

  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. In a food processor, blend the pine nuts and garlic together.

  2. Add in basil and mix again until combined.
