Day 17: Granola Bars

Updated: May 5, 2020

Today I thought I should make a snack instead of a dessert, so I choose granola bars! Basically there are two ways you can make them. One with sugar and chocolate, the other, with dates and almonds. Both taste awesome and are worth making. Plus they only take around 15 minutes (without cooling time)!

Toast the granola or muesli.

Mix everything together.

Press down (flatten) and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Cut into 3 slices.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 teaspoons mini chocolate chips

1 tablespoons honey

1 1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

1 1/8 cup rolled oats/muesli mix

1/8 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1/4 tablespoon vanilla paste

STEPS:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and put the granola in a pan and toast in the oven for 10 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes.

Mix honey, maple syrup, vanilla paste, sugar and butter in a pot until combine and melted.

Add the granola and the honey mixture together and let cool for five minutes. Then combine caramel and mini chocolate chips. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Cut and serve once ready.

If you want the healthier version (which makes 10) :

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups rolled oats/muesli

2 tablespoon golden raisins

5 seedless dates

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon raw almonds

STEPS:

Toast almonds with the granola for 10 minutes and then cool for a few minutes.

Blend five dates until combined. Mix the almonds, raisins and the dates together. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Cut and serve when ready.

Enjoy!
