Calzones are a great dinner for you or your family. It tastes like a pizza but it's folded over and creased around the edges. You can put whatever filling you wish, but in this recipe I shared a classic pizza filling.
I have a calzone maker. This makes everything a lot easier. If you don't have one you can simply add the filling, fold over, and crimp!
Add an egg wash to make your calzones golden and shiny!
Doesn't that look so good?
I love the crimped "braid"!
Time: 45 mins
Tip: If you don't have a calzone maker, you can fold over your dough and crease the edges by hand.
Pizza dough (4 servings)
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tablespoons mozzarella cheese
1 cup ricotta cheese
Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
Roll the dough and place it in your calzone maker. Add tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and ricotta cheese. Fold over and wait a few seconds. Take your calzones out of the calzone maker and bake for 30 minutes.
