Day 206: Stuffed Crust Pizza

I love making pizza. Kneading, shaping the dough, and filling it with sauces and toppings is just so fun!

Besides the outcome of pizza is always delicious. It's basically it's definition. :)

Pizza wouldn't be pizza without a crust after all. Are you a crust person? I am. I used to hate eating anything that had crusts but for some reason I loved pizza crust. It's thick, chewy and fluffy. But stuffing it with cheese bring pizza to the next level.

This whole pizza is done (at most) 45 minutes. Yes, you heard me right - it takes less than an hour.

And it tastes just as good as pizza that would take 3 hours to proof. I recommend cheese sticks because they will give you the best finished product.

I definitely encourage you all to make your own homemade pizza! Skip the takeout can bake some quick stuffed crust pizza today!

|Level: 👩🏽‍🍳|Time: 45 minutes| Serves: 4|

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (bread flour will work)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 packet instant yeast

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 6-8 cheese sticks

  • Sauce/toppings

STEPS:

  1. Whisk together flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Slowly add your water and knead for 2 minutes. Let it proof in a warm spot for 10 minutes.

  2. Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F. Dust a baking sheet with semolina flour.

  3. When you're ready roll your dough into a 12" round circle. 1" away from the ends arrange your cheese sticks so they're all around your pizza dough. Fold the ends over the cheese sticks and pinch tightly. Add your sauce and toppings. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.

Enjoy!
