Week 29: Caramel Apple French Toast

I love any kind of French toast, but lately, with the cold weather, I have been craving a good fall brunch recipe.

This recipe is similar to my banana foster french toast, as it has a caramel base. However, this recipe is centered around cinnamon-spiced apples.

This French Toast is perfect for the morning of Thanksgiving before any big meal prep is being done because this dish comes together SO fast!

It is going to be your next favorite brunch meal to share during the upcoming holidays!

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

Toast:

  • 2 slices of thick bread

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 3 tablespoon butter

  • 1 apple, cut into slices

STEPS:

  1. Over medium-high heat, grease a pan with butter.

  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the eggs, milk, and cinnamon. Dip the slices of bread into the egg mixture on both sides. Cook the bread for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  3. In a separate pot, over medium heat, melt the brown sugar and butter. Slowly, mix in the apples, and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Assemble the French toast by drizzling the apple caramel mixture over the bread.

Enjoy!
