Week 29: Chocolate Banana Bread (United States)

By the 1930s banana bread was a constant staple of American cookbooks and has remained popular since!

While some may think that banana bread is a form of cake, it's actually not. It's called bread because it's sliced like bread and baked in a loaf pan.

Chocolate banana bread is my favorite variation of the classic recipe, which you can find in my blog here.

If you want to make double chocolate banana bread, feel free to add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips at the end.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

  • 3 bananas, mashed

  • 1 egg

  • 1/3 cup chocolate chip

STEPS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, and grease a loaf pan with butter.

  2. Mix together all your ingredients in a bowl. Pour the mixture into your prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes.

  3. Cut and served.

Enjoy!
