Day 358: Chocolate Almond Biscotti

Making biscotti is easy and fun! It's a great baking project for beginners and advanced bakers.

What I love about this chocolate almond biscotti is that you get that crunch of the almonds every bite you take.

The chocolate and almonds pair really well together! I used pre-sliced almonds but you can chop them yourself.

If you are not a fan or allergic to almonds, you can replace them with mini chocolate chips.

To finish off these delicious cookies, you can dip them into melted chocolate! If you don't have extra chocolate, don't worry, they taste just as great on their own!

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

STEPS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix all your ingredients together in a large bowl until you have a soft dough. Place onto the parchment paper, and flatten your dough into a 12-inch-by-4-inch rectangle. Bake for 30 minutes.

  3. Cool for 5 minutes and cut 1-inch-thick slices from the biscotti block. Lay the slices on the parchment paper and bake for another 20 to 30 minutes. You can tell that the biscotti are done when the middle is crunchy.

Enjoy!
