This was my first time trying a chocolate poke cake. In fact, I’ve only poke cake once in my life, and I can’t say I was too much of a fan.

However, this cake turned out so good. It is so decadent and rich, and if you love chocolate, you are going to love this recipe.

The cake is filled with chocolate condensed cream, so it becomes very moist, and because it’s baked in a sheet pan, you can easily serve it to your guests.

Now that I’ve tried making this chocolate poke cake, I am going to experiment with new flavors. This recipe has converted me into a poke cake fan!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
Cake:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup warm water
Filling:
7 oz. sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup chocolate chips, melted
Frosting:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup cocoa powder
STEPS:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F, and grease a 9x9-inch cake pan with butter.
In a bowl, combine all your cake ingredients and pour the batter into your prepared pan. Bake for 35 minutes. Poke holes over the cake using a fork and allow it to cool to room temperature.
In a small bowl, mix the heavy whipping cream and chocolate chips. Spread over your cake and cool in the refrigerator for an hour.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the heavy whipping cream, sugar, and cocoa powder until stiff peaks form. Spread onto the cake and serve.
Enjoy!
