You can make this simple flatbread with pizza toppings or just bare! Both work just fine. I've been trying to do Sally's Baking Challenge from sallysbakingaddiction.com, so I can test my baking abilities! So even though I made this two days late, it was definitely worth it.
You can make the dough in a stand mixer with a hook attachment or you can just mix it by hand. It doesn't really matter.
Make sure you roll your dough super thin, otherwise it will puff up, and be the opposite of flatbread.
I put basil, spinach, zucchini, and onions as my toppings, aside from the cheese and tomato sauce.
Bake at 475 degrees F for 13-15 minutes.
Fresh out of the oven!
Cut and serve to everyone!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
4 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoon salt
STEPS:
Mix the yeast sugar and water and let sit for 5 minutes or until frothy. Add the flour, oil, and salt and knead for a few minutes. Proof for 45 minutes.
Roll out and spread some extra olive oil to prevent leakage. Add on the toppings. Bake for 13-15 minutes.
Enjoy!
