Day 56: Burger Buns

Today I made these Burger Buns! They're actually pretty quick (no rise), so they make a quick lunch or dinner. If you want something to eat with your burger bun, stay tuned for tomorrow's post: Veggie Burger Patty's!

Because this recipe uses baking powder instead of yeast, the dough rises in the oven and you don't have to let it proof! This makes baking homemade burger buns, a lot less time consuming.

I didn't have any burger fillings except the patty, oops! 🙄

Stay tuned for tomorrow "Veggie Burger Patty's", to make your own homemade burger bun AND patty!

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tablespoons baking powder

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3 to 3-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

STEPS:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet.

Mix the water and baking powder until it dissolves. Add in the oil and sugar and let it sit for 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl whisk together egg, salt, and flour. Pour in the water mixture and knead together. Cut into 6-7 balls and bake for 15 minutes.

Enjoy!
