Day 101: Falooda

Thanks so much to everyone who has supported me in #bakersagaistracism! I've done the math and here it is: 18 hours, 45 minutes in the kitchen, over the course of Monday - Friday. I raised 250 dollars to support a charity! To celebrate I made falooda, the ultimate summer drink. I love it because it's refreshing AND sweet!

Falooda is the PERFECT summer drink. It's cold and complements the hot summer days, it's flavored with rose which makes it so dreamy!

Once you try this you will never stop drinking it. I swear!

You want to soak the basil seeds for a while so that they become soft and kind of chewy.

Chia seeds also work instead of basil. But first try falooda with basil seeds. Chia seeds, aren't the best, but will work.

|Level: 👩🏽‍🍳|Time 35 minutes (30 minutes for soaking and cooking)| Serves: 4|

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 tablespoons rose syrup

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 4 tablespoons basil seeds, chia seeds work as well

  • 4 cups water

  • 1/2 cup falooda sev

  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream, add as much as you want to be honest 😊

STEPS:

  1. Soak basil seeds in the water for 30 minutes. Meanwhile cook the falooda sev with 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Drain once done and set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl stir together rose syrup, and milk.

  3. With a ladle pour two servings of the falooda in your cup - fill it up 2/3 way full. Add soaked basil seeds, falooda sev and give it a stir. Lastly add your ice cream.

Enjoy!

This falooda is amazing! The rose flavor worked well with the vanilla ice cream and the crunch of the basil seeds.
