In my opinion waffles are better than pancakes. Don't get me wrong I LOVE pancakes as well, but waffles just have a very special place in my heart. The exterior is so crispy whereas the interior is soft and chewy. Now that's a good waffle.
The almond extract is the key to a good waffle. Vanilla is fine, but it doesn't give a unique flavor to the waffles.
You can try chocolate chips or sprinkles! Sprinkle 1/2 a tablespoon all over the waffle batter before it you cook it.
Serve these with whipped cream, powdered sugar, maple syrup or nutella/chocolate sauce.
I don't know if you like waffles this way but: I like them cooled and kind of soaked in maple syrup. Then I sprinkle powdered sugar and eat them. It's good stuff, believe me!
Okay enough talking, I've got to eat some waffles. 🙄

INGREDIENTS:
3 tablespoons butter
13/4 cups all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt
3 eggs
1/2 cups milk

Maple syrup, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, optional

Heat your waffle pan and melt the butter in the microwave for 1 minute.
Meanwhile mix together all your dry ingredients. In a separate bowl mix together your melted butter plus the other wet ingredients. Add the wet into the dry, and stir - the batter might be lumpy. Spoon in into your waffle iron and cook to the waffle iron instructions. Serve, with toppings!
