Week 10: Banana French Toast

French toast is the perfect way to start a lazy Saturday breakfast. It doesn't require too much work, but the results are just too good.

This week we are in a new location: New York. I was able to continue my baking challenge even in this new city.

It's just for a short while, but I am already so inspired by all the delicious food that NYC has to offer.

For a late brunch, my family and I decided to try this mouthwatering banana French toast! Give it a try as well.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

French Toast:

  • 3 pieces of bread (preferably a thick one)

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 cup milk

Topping:

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 bananas, sliced

STEPS:

  1. Heat a pan with butter over medium-high heat.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk the cinnamon, eggs, and milk. Soak each slice of bread on both sides and place on your pan to cook for 3 minutes. Flip to cook for 1-2 more minutes on the other side.

  3. Heat a small saucepan with butter. Melt in the sugar and stir until the mixture turns brown. Add bananas and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium-high heat.

  4. Pour the banana topping over the French toast and serve!

Enjoy!
