Day 347: Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

This is a healthy alternative for pizza dough! It's done in less than 45 minutes and is so easy to make!

Whole wheat pizza dough has the reputation for being dry and just not the same as pizza made with all-purpose flour.

My pizza dough recipe tastes just like all-purpose flour pizza. It's fluffy and is not that nutty in flavor.

If you are busy and don't have time to do the assembly bit of the pizza now, you can proof this dough for around 2 hours instead of just 10 minutes.

Making pizza is simple and fun! Add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings for your personalized pizza!

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast

  • 1 cup of water

STEPS:

  1. In a large bowl, stir the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast together. Pour the water in and knead into a ball. Cover with a dishtowel and proof for 10 minutes.

  2. Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.

  3. Once your dough is ready, stretch it into a large 12" round. Place onto your baking sheet. Roll the edges to create a crust, and add your filling/toppings. Bake for 10 minutes.

Enjoy!
