Avocado Toast

Hi! I'm excited to introduce a new challenge that I have wanted to try since the start of the blog! I will be baking a new type of homemade bread from around the world every week. This challenge will be called "The Bread Basket Challenge."

I really enjoy eating avocado toast for breakfast or as a snack because it is simple to make, and there are so many different ways you can make it unique!

This recipe takes about five minutes, so it's one of my go-to meals when I'm hungry but don't have the time to make something extravagant.

I like to eat my avocado toast with scrambled or fried eggs, or sometimes with tomatoes and balsamic vinegar as toppings.

I recommend using sourdough, whole wheat bread, or any bread that's at least 1/2" thick for this recipe.

Stay tuned for next week's post!!!

Serves 2

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 slices of bread

  • 1 avocado, mashed

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • Add toppings such as eggs or vegetables

STEPS:

  1. Toast your bread until golden brown.

  2. Mix the mashed avocado with salt and pepper. Spread this mixture onto your toasted bread.

  3. Add toppings if desired, and serve!

Enjoy!
